In September of 1959, Barbara entered Auburn University and earned a BS degree in June of 1962. Two days after graduation, she married George Frizzell and they moved to Pensacola where he was a flight student with the Navy and she taught algebra at Clubbs. In 1964, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida after brief stays in Corpus Christi and Norfolk. There, George was assigned to a patrol plane squadron and she continued to teach. She accompanied George on two major deployments to Iceland and Europe.
In 1967, they both entered graduate school in Florida and received their masters.
After being furloughed from Pan American Airways after two years with them, George went back to the Navy and they lived in Pensacola.
Barbara and George moved to Macon, Georgia six years ago where George works with Merrill Lynch and Barbara is a professor at Macon College.
