| From the 1978 reunion book: Eunice was married to Byron Nordberg on December 26, 1959. She met him in her senior year at Foley High while he was stationed at Pensacola with the U.S. Marine Corps. She completed her freshman year at North Park College in Chicago, Illinois in June of 1960 and joined Byron at Camp Pendleton, California. Their first daughter, Jeanine Beth, was born on June 18, 1961 in San Diego. They moved to Alabama when Jeanine was four months old and lived in Summerdale 10 months then moved to Chicago. Their second daughter, Kristine Anne, was born in Chicago April 14, 1963. They moved back to Oceanside, California in June of 1966 while Bryon served another tour of active duty. He completed about 12 years of active duty, has 22 years total reserve and active duty and is a Lt. Col. Eunice attended various schools, obtained an AA degree from Mira College in Oceanside, attended San Diego State and took real estate classes at night at Polomar College in San Marcos, CA. In 1975, Eunice was appointed Escrow Officer for the Carlsbad office of the Oceanside Federal Savings. Eunice also obtained her real estate broker's license in 1978. Byron, in addition to his activity with the Marine Corp., has a California teacher's credential and has taught about three years. They also had a donut shop which Byron managed for two years. Eunice and Byron love the climate in California and have many friends there but miss all of their friends and relatives in Alabama. They would like to find a waterfront lot in Baldwin County with good swimming water for retirement. |
