After graduation, Theresa attended Spring Hill College for two and a half years.
She married Lt. j.g. Henry Papa, a Navy pilot, in December 1961. They moved to Lemoore, California for three and a half years while Henry flew for VA-22 on the carrier U.S.S. Midway. During this time Theresa was able to spend two months in Japan and Hong Kong.
They moved to Warlick, Rhode Island in June 1965. In September 1965, Henry started flying with Pan American Airways. Theresa and Henry were able to get away a few times and visit Sweden, Finland, Portugal and Scotland via Pan Am. In between flying, Henry was elected and served on the Warwick City Council for eight years. This period of time was extremely busy, especially with the addition of the third and fourth child.
After eleven years in Rhode Island, they moved to Berlin in June 1976. They spent two very interesting and enjoyable years in Berlin before their move to Mobile. One of the highlights of their stay in Germany was a trip they made with her parents to their parent's birthplaces.
Theresa and Henry have four children: Henry, Jr., Theresa (Terri Ann), Michelle and Patrick.
