Betty attended Pensacola Junior College 1959-61, then worked in the office of South Baldwin Hospital until 1963. At that time she married Bill Barnes, a Florida State graduate and future Marine aviator.
Their military moves included Quantico, Virginia, Pensacola, Jacksonville, NC, Pensacola, Bloomington, Minnesota, Tustin, California, Newport, Rhode Island, and Fairfax, Virginia.
In addition to the above traveling, Betty spent time traveling and vacationing in Alaska, Japan, Okinawa and Hawaii during July and August 1966. She has traveled and vacationed extensively all over the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Betty and Bill had two sons, Greg, born 3-24-68 and Scott, born 11-05-71. Betty, (in 1978) was a 5th grade homeroom mother, volunteer aide for the 1st grade every Friday morning and Hospitality Chairman of the PTA Board.
she was also Co-Chairman of the Arts and Crafts Committee of the Women's Club and a member of the Marine Aviation Wives Club for the Washington area.
Betty has taken several gourmet cooking classes plus cake decorating, candy making and bread making. She taught cooking seminars in candy making and Danish pastry and a cooking class: Kitchen Capers.
She enjoys calligraphy, reading needlepoint, crafts, cooking and entertaining.
Bill received an MBA from Pepperdine University in 1975 and graduated with distinction from the Naval War College in 1977. In 1978, he was flying a desk at Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Since that time, Bill passed away, and Betty is remarried to David W. Morgan, and lives in Fairhope. He is a golf pro, hence the e-mail address agofpro.gateway.net (golf w/o the "l").
