Bernice was married on March 25th, 1960 to Charlie McDuffie and lived in Montgomery until 1962. They moved to Mobile until June 1971 and then to Miami where Bernice worked for the newly established Federal Reserve Bank.
By this marriage, Bernice had three children: Therese, Chuck and Scott.
Bernice received a divorce in 1971 and moved back to Summerdale and lived with her mother for several years during which time she was employed by Commercial Guaranty Bank of Mobile.
After much contemplation, she went back to school and in early 1975, she left the bank and went into the real estate business full time. In 1977, she contemplated even further and remarried. William G. Lindsey, Jr, son of Judge William G. Lindsey and the late Claudia Slade Lindsey of McIntosh, Alabama. Bernice and Bill added a fourth child, Billy, to the family. Business and four children keep them on their toes.
They live in western Mobile. They attend St. Paul's Episcopal Church, are an avid outdoor family and hunt deer, wild hog, turkey, dove, etc. and fish (any kind) as often as possible.
Bernice and Bill are real estate brokers and work together at Southland Realty Investments, Inc. They sell any and all kinds of real estate, specializing in investments and syndication. They would love to be of service to any of you interested in investing!
