Carol attended Clarke Memorial College 1959-61 and worked in Gardendale, five miles north of Birmingham for two and a half years. She moved to Mobile and worked as church secretary for Springhill Baptist Church for little more than a year.
Carol was married to Ed Zimmerman in 1966 and moved to Milwaukee, then back to Foley in October 1967. By that marriage, Carol had two daughters, Andrea and Amy.
Carol is presently married to Richard White.
