Review – Amanda Easton “Falling In”

Single on Wild Cat Records through MGM

Three cheers for Stephen Green! I wondered who was going to look after this pop star (with no reference whatsoever to that poor excuse for a TV show of the same name: this girl has talent!) following the demise of her relationship with her previous manager. So seeing the new logo on the cover of the envelope meant only one thing – Amanda is back! Another three cheers!!

But I’d have to say, from the outset, that this single doesn’t grab me as much as the previous releases have. The B-side, Space Girl, albeit quite infectious (as a good pop tune should be) just isn’t the standard to which we have become accustomed from the Easton stables. Falling In, however, rates fourth after Celebrity and those MP3s that I fell in love with instantly, Infatuation and Runaway.

All this aside, Mandy is moving from strength to strength with multi-media appearances (life imitating art?!), including mid-range airtime on the popular music TV shows and press-inches in a popular ACP mag. Personally I feel she does the rock better than the pop, although previous moves in both directions have been more than successful«««
