Mel Gibson. He's been waiting in the wings for a while now but I can't think of a better week to pull him out then this one. If you are not blind you must have seen him or heard his name a hundred million times in the last few weeks. But just in case you didn't...Mel made a movie called The Passion of the Christ about the last 12 hours of Jesus Christ's life from his perspective. It has caused quite a stir! I can't wait to go see it tomorrow night with MCCF. I've been watching interviews with him all over the place and although I must admit he seems to be a little nutty, it takes a lot of guts to spend so much money to put something together that could ruin your career. Granted, it seems to have done the opposite...BUT it could have gone either way. Who knows, maybe after I see the movie I'll want to dump him, but I don't think that's going to be the case. He's a very devout Christian, I guess in all ways judging by the whole 7 kids thing...I'm thinking he needed some contraceptives... But I am always into people who are into spreading the word of the Lord.
Before this was even an issue I loved Mel. I've seen him in such films as Forever Young, Braveheart, The Patriot, What Women Want, Signs and I've listened to him in Pocohontas (my FAVORITE Disney movie ever!) and Chicken Run. He's adorable in that cute older man type way. I just love his eyes and his smile.
Mel's the man, and for this week he's my man so more power to him! |
