Norte del Valle Cartel [Abadia Organization]

President

Juan Carlos "El Patron" Ramirez-Abadia
(1986-2007)
Over a twenty year period, the man known as Chupeta, Don Augusto and El Patron proved himself capable in the areas of drug trafficking and money laundering. From an area long associated with the far flung activities of the Orejuela brothers Cali Cartel, Abadia employed murder as a vehicle of protection and expansion. The Ramirez-Abadia faction of the Norte del Valle cartel borrowed a page from the Medellin cartel choosing custom made speed boats to distribute large quantities of cocaine and heroin to U.S., markets in California, Texas and Colorado.

Abadia was indicted three times by U.S., state courts yet remained free until a federal grand jury indicted Ramirez Abadia on drug and RICO charges in 2004. The erstwhile cartel boss managed to remain free until August 7, 2007 when authorities arrested him in Brazil. He has since been extradited to the U.S., where he faces trial.

Vice President

William Johnny "Mechas" Tamayo-Ramirez
(1990s-Present)
Accused of being the right hand man to Don Augusto. Tamayo-Hernandez was arrested in Panama where he was reportedly under the protection of the National Organization for the Attention of Refuges. It was reported that Tamayo-Ramirez had been targeted for death in Columbia either by drug traffickers or government authorities. American authorities extradited Tamayo_Ramirez to the United States via a commercial flight to New York shortly after he was detained in an exclusive section of Obarrio, Panama. Prior to his arrest Tamayo had no outstanding warrants for his arrest in Panama but a 500 kilogram seizure shortly after his detention has been credited to his alledged drug operation.
