Flames Rant

Ive heard many things: "The End is coming", "the World will end tomorrow", "sinners repent", and my personal fav. "Jesus loves you".

Now, as far as Im aware, The End has been universally acknowledged to be coming. After all, scientists claim that dark matter and a potential implode of the known universe will end things for human kind and everything else. And as it is currently 2:17am, and I saw the The World will end tomorrow, sinners repent bit a few years ago, Ill hazard the chance that the statement isnt true for the time that I saw it. As for Jesus loves you, yes he does...

Though given that statement, and the fact that there seems to be a religious base for most flamers, how can they justify their actions? For the record, Im Christian. I have no intention of becoming a witch or sucking Satans cock because I love evil and am evil, I just happen to not be able to understand why people are evil.

For instance:

"U r a hell-whore scumface basterd daughter of Satan! Pigs like u who rite shit and think their smart r killing soceity and making good people into sinners. Ur storys r disgusting and should be burned. U should be burned, to. U suck! Faggots shud all die."

A flame.

This, recently sent to someone on one of the fiction mailing lists I belong to, is an example of a person being evil. Why do people do this? They bash the writer and the story and those that read the stories.

I can understand not being gay themselves and being a little grossed out by it. Im straight, I dont understand why anyone would want to have sex with a member of their own sex, but some people do. And some people write other people doing said acts. Like me.

Say the evil person decides that, for religious reasons, they need to express their displeasure at something of this nature being available for anyone to read.

Hm. Well, first up, they dont have to read it. Secondly, most people who write about homosexual relationships project their characters as being monogamous. They may have a character that runs around, but that person isnt usually the star of the story. This upholds some Christian concepts. Given the fact that same sex marriages are prohibited by law in (if I remember correctly) 48 ( the exceptions being Vermont and Hawaii) of the 50 states, Id say that waiting until marriage for most of the gay population of the states is a tad impossible. As it is, marriage as recognized by the government is not sanctified by God, but by the state of _(insert state name here)_.

Also, If one pledges their fidelity to another person and asks Gods blessing on the union of heart and home, how is that not marriage? Dont most gay couples (if Christian) ask for such a blessing if theyre serious about one another?

In the light of this, how can the said flamer say that just because of a sexual preference, someone should die? Or for writing a story about two people of the same sex in love should be enough to warrant a death sentence? I just dont get it. Not to mention that (again siting the flame quoted) the people reading such stories, being good people, are most likely NOT reading the stories, or ones like it, for the first time. Its something theyve thought about, are morbidly curious about, get horny reading, or just plain old enjoy a good story- which doesnt make them sinners. They have not sinned against God or another person. They have merely read someones work.

Now. Given the Jesus loves you statement of earlier, how can this flamer, trying to fight the good fight against such evil people who write about the (dammed) homosexuals, claim to follow the teachings of Christ, love their neighbor, and recognize that even these sinners are loved by Jesus and should be loved in return for the people they are and not what they do behind closed bedroom doors- and still flame the people and the author for the practice?

My suggestion to the flamer- get a dictionary and a grammar, such useful books will make it more difficult for you to make yourself a laughing stock for your innability to write a complete gramatical sentence. Second, before you spout off again in a (soon to be) public forum, think about what Jesus would do in your shoes, especially if you claim that the people are hell-whore, scum faced, bastard daughters of Satan, hence alluding to a Christian faith. And thirdly, what happens behind closed bedroom doors isnt your concern. If someone writes about it and you dont agree with it, chances are the written piece was well marked with warnings about content and therefore you're at fault for not taking those warnings seriously. And last but not least, Judge not lest ye yourself be judged.

And if flamers dont buy that, didnt Mommy always say that If you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all?
