Is it possible to have emotion with out having a physical body? I think it is. Most of the reports I have read and the investigations I been involved with indicate it might be possible. The entities show intelligence and emotion and react to their environment.
There are homes that show no activity until the owners start renovating or remodelling, suddenly there is activity. The ghost may not like what the owner of the house is doing and will react. Depending on the personality of the ghost will depend on the activity. It could be as simple as moving objects, to hostile activity but this is very rare. Murder victims have been reported to come back looking for justice by giving the living clues to catch the killer. Some ghosts do not think they are dead and try to live amongst the living and get very frustrated when people egnore them. Other ghosts do not want to leave their loved one and try to interact with them. Ghosts have been reported coming back to warn friends and loved one of pending danger. There are also the reports of ghosts that get very hostile with people interfering in their business especially psyhics trying to send them back towards the light when they dont want to go. Myself and a college was involved in a investigation were this had happened. This is the type of investigation you have to be very careful with and have people that are experienced in this area. Luckly we work with very experianced claivoyants who know how to deal with angry spirits.
There are also the compassionnate ghosts, were people will feel like they are getting a hug, a kiss or being stroked gently.
Ghosts I think carry the emotional baggage from their former live and will react accordingly.
