The Chapacabra has become one of the most popular creatures studied by cryptozoologists in resent times. Chapacaba translated means "goat-sucker", it has mainly been reported in Latin America but there have been reports in the USA (Texas, florida and California). It is described as a imp like creature, grey to brown in colour. three horns on its head a long darting tongue and red eyes that glow. It hops like a kangaroo and is capable of flight. The Chapacaba feeds mainly on domestic animals mainly goats, this is were it got it's name. It drains the blood from its victims neck leaving puncture marks like a vampire. There have also been reports that particuler organs were missing from its victoms bodies, with out any visible way for those organs to have been removed.
Some believe that the Chapacaba is a resident from another galaxy, and that it is a pet of the aliens, left behind and is roaming the Latin American countyside. Witnesses have reported that tha creature leaves a sulfur-like smell.
Others believe it is an experiment gone badly wrong and the goverment is covering it up.
The local poplation believe it is a supernatural creature, that is half-man and half-vampire who roams the countryside terrorizing farm animals.
In 1999 Brazil's Corriero Newspaper reported eight goats and three sheep dying of single wounds to the neck. Other Brazilian witnesses claimed to have seen an animal that may fly or leap with powerful monkey-like legs, attacking animals and humans alike. Most of the witnesses also claimed to have seen fangs. In every case , a predator appeared to wantonly kill livestock, and then mysteriously disappear. No meat was taken just a bit mark to the neck was apparent. And there are those eyewitnesses, from dozens of incidents in far-flug regions, all telling simular stories.
This is such a bizarre creature, to unbelievable to be true. Yet hundreds of eyewitness reports tell us that there is something prowling the countyside of Latin America. Hopefully some one will solve the puzzle so we can see if it is earthly or alien.
