| PLAY BACK GHOST: The first ghost we are going to look at I call "the play back ghost".This occurs when there is an historic or tragic event. The ghost will go through the motions of the event many times, this may go on for many years. The event may actually be imprinted on the area or building. The ghost will appear to take no notice of any people in the area it will just continue to go through the motions of repeating the event. Some researchers believe that these ghosts that are not earth bound but are visual play backs. Everything is made from energy and is imprinted on certain materials and played back like a video recorder when the atomosphere is right. This type of haunting may be frightening to watch but is not dangerous, so just put this down to an interesting experence. INTERACTIVE GHOST: The second ghost we are going to look at is "the interactive ghost". This is the ghost that gives you all the special effects. You may hear footsteps, voices, music, whistling and/or smells, tobacco, perfume, etcetera including at times disgusting smells. There could also be moving of objects and/or lights and appliances turning on and off. You may even see a full bodied or partial bodied apparition. Cold spots, orbs, mist and all sorts of light effects can also be encountered. This type of ghost is usually a deceased person who died suddenly, leaving unfinished business, or has a fear of moving on or may even be suffering guilt. This type of ghost is usually harmless but there is the rare situation when a haunting can be dangerous due to the tricks it's playing but it is not the norm. POLTERGEIST: The word "polertgeist" comes from the German term poltern "to knock" and geist "spirit". A typical poltergeist haunting seems to consist of noises, such as load knocking, and objects moving about on there own. There can also be voices, smells and apparitions in addition to other symptoms. Numerous people can witness these events. The events may start slowly with small noises and objects moving and then progress to larger objects and loud knocks and bangs. Normally there is one person who seems more effected than others and usually present when events occur. In the 1930s the psychologist and psychic researcher Nandor Fodor suggested the theory that spirits did not cause poltergeist disturbances but by individuals suffering intense repressed anger, sexual frustation and hostility. This psychological dysfunction theory has been suported by other research indicating that a significant number of reported disturbances, the agent could be a child or a teenager possibly unconsiously unleashing hostility with out the fear of punishment. A high proportion of poltergeist activity happens when a preteen female is present. Psychological profile of agents show mental and emotional stress, personality disorders, phobias, obsessive behavior and schizophrenia are linked to supposed poltergeist phenomena. In some cases psychotherapy has eliminated the poltergeist activity. NON HUMAN SPIRIT The third type of ghost is the one to keep away from, a "non human spirit" commanly known as devils and demons, it is rare if they interact with the living. They have been mentioned in the New and Old testements of the bible. This type of spirit may appear to people involved with Ouija board, black magic or satanic worship. |
