Welcome to the Old Main Neighborhood Association (OMNA)! OMNA, the first and only neighborhood association in Stevens Point, Wisconsin is a grassroots, volunteer organization. OMNA identifies issues of concern, communicates with their members through newsletters and meetings, promotes local events, and designs programs to involve students, homeowners, landlords and city and university officials to enhance the quality of life for all who live in the campus neighborhood. The University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point’s campus is located within a municipality adjacent to many residential neighborhoods. These campus neighborhoods make an ideal home for University students and faculty as well as families and elderly. Its central location, moderately priced housing, and cultural and recreational opportunities are why many choose to live within the campus neighborhood. |

The development and operation of the university campus has a significant physical and financial effect on the areas surrounding the campus. It is OMNA’s goal to be an integral part of the planning decisions of campus and city development and to work cooperatively in an effort to avoid negatively affecting surrounding areas. OMNA is proud of the many people who have come together to support Stevens Point’s first neighborhood association. The Student Government Association of UWSP, homeowners and landlords, city employees, and University officials have given their time and energy to create a better neighborhood environment. As a neighborhood association, OMNA provides many opportunities for people to work together on initiatives that directly benefit the neighborhood and strengthens the entire community. We encourage you to view the Old Main Neighborhood Association’s Webpage and we welcome your involvement! |
