French Toast +1
3 T flour
1 T sugar
pinch of salt
dash of cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, or other
½ C milk (+ a bit more for 6 pieces)
2 eggs
6 slices of bread
butter

Mix your dry ingredients, then slowly mix in your milk, then eggs. You will have a smooth and thin batter when complete. Heat a pan to low-medium heat (around 4/10 on an electric stove). Add a bit of butter to your pan and spread it around the area your first slice will go into. Immerse a slice of bread in the batter, making certain it's coated on both sides, then let some of the excess run off into the bowl. Place on in the pan, and when you can shift the slice around by shaking the pan back and forth, check the underside. If not golden brown, give it a bit more time. When it is, flip, and give it a bit less time to cook on the other side.

Modifications include using better quality milk, cream, or even buttermilk, using better kinds of bread, drying the bread out overnight, allowing the batter to saturate the bread, using different spices, adding honey, and more. As always, the better quality ingredients you use, the better the end result will be.
