Grilled Ham & Cheese +1
2 slices of bread
2 slices of cheese
enough deli cut ham for a sandwich
mayonnaise
Set your stove to low-medium heat. 3.5/10 on electric.
Dice your ham into small bits, as we will need the cheese to melt through it. This keeps it from sliding out of the sandwich and
falling onto your chest. Apply mayonnaise to one side of each of your pieces of bread, and fry mayo side down until browned.
Remove from the pan and set them un-fried side up. Now apply mayonnaise to the un-fried sides. Now place one piece of bread,
mayonnaise side down, then place a slice of cheese, then your diced ham, then your other piece of cheese onto the already-fried
side, then put the other piece of bread onto the top, fried side down, mayo side up. To flip the sandwich, slide the spatula
under it, lift it, then turn the pan upside down like a madman, press the cooking surface to the top of the sandwich, and then
turn everything over, placing the pan back on the burner. This will allow the cheese on both sides to melt properly.
I recommend swiss and cheddar for a good mix, but the best cheese is in the mouth of the beholder. Mayonnaise keeps the
sandwich from becoming extremely oily, like it would if you used butter to toast the bread. If you want to go even further
beyond, fry your ham, and season it, to remove the water and keep your sandwich from dripping.
