The Heroic Legend of Arislan is an Epic tale of battles, journeys, friendships and betrayals.  This epic revolves around the principle character, Arislan and his struggles to reclaim his homeland (Palse) from the interlopers (Lusitania).   As the epic unfolds Arislan and his protector Daryoon collect other team-mates to aid Arislan in his quest.  Arislan is a soft spoken man-child (14 years old at the on-set) who has to grow up hard and fast and yet he still manages to keep that innocent and (sometimes too) trusting nature.   The entire Anime is about 6 hours long and the last to parts have had the names of characters and places changed (which is really irritating if your listening to Japanese dialogue and reading the English subtitles - because you can still hear the proper pronunciation of said places and names) hence Arislan becomes Arslan...and so on.    Also the series doesn't seem to have a conclusion and leaves you wondering what is happening or if it will ever be concluded.  Very...annoying.

The artwork is as epic as the story with truly gorgeous scenery and characters.

The soundtrack fits the epic.

The characters are quite exquisitely detailed and recognizable from episode to episode. 

I enjoyed The Heroic Legend of Arislan because of the great story, beautiful scenery and gorgeous characters.  I found the story intense and interesting...only to be let down in the end when the Anime concluded with out a tangible conclusion.  I also found the changing of the names and places very distracting and stupid, so even though I liked the story I was left feeling unhappy in the end which is why I rated it only 5 in the story section..
