The first job by the Trust. Winner of European Heritage Year Award. The conversion of a group of former Stockingers Cottages, 1974. Before this first project the NBPT were only responsible for the administration of a grant system, not in the carrying out of projects. Numerous applications for grant assistance were considered during these early years. OTHER PROJECTS WITH FEASIBILITY STUDY, ADVICE OR OTHER TRUST INVOLVEMENT INCLUDE: SHIREOAKS STATION Feasibility Study. Station buildings owned by Railtrack, but empty for years and threatened with demolition by the owner. COTTAGE, MISSON Bought by the Trust, but sold unaltered in 1989. HOLMGARTH HOUSE, BLYTH Feasibility Study. A timber-framed listed cottage, the timber frame repaired with grant aid. Demolition approval granted by Bassetlaw DC. Building demolished, now a garage forecourt. OLD SCHOOLHOUSE, ORDSALL, RETFORD Unused building. MALTBY'S ACADEMY, MANSFIELD Feasibility Study. Refurbished by Mansfield District Council. Former school, now converted to small flats. INNISDOON, MANSFIELD Feasibilty Study. Grade ll* listed building, built as private residence to the design of Parker and Unwin. Converted and used as a Doctors Surgery. BATH MILL, MANSFIELD Grade ll listed building. Feasibility Study. £5K Grant towards Feasibilty Study from AHF 1996/97. Currently empty and vandalised. BERRY HILL HALL, MANSFIELD Listed building. Former private residence, used by Coal Board as a Rehabilitation Centre for miners. Currently owned by a Nottingham Developer, empty and vandalised. THE MANOR HOUSE, MANSFIELD WOODHOUSE Listed building, former Mansfield District Council offices. Converted to private flats. WHARF CAFE, NEWARK Feasibility Study. Conversion and extension as a Pizza Express outlet. LOCKEEPERS COTTAGE, NEWARK Derelict cottage, now restored and converted to restaurant use. BENNERLEY VIADUCT, AWSWORTH Listed former railway viaduct. NBPT acted as enabler. 61-65 HIGH STREET, SUTTON-ON-TRENT Listed cottages, blighted by modern convenience store. Threatened with demolition. THE OLD SHOP, WILFORD Derelict empty cottage. JESSAMINE COTTAGE, HICKLING Listed building. Sold privately for refurbishment. ANNESLEY HALL, ANNESLEY Survey/historical report with repair recommendations. Unoccupied since 1974. Unused and For Sale. 60 HIGH STREET, MANSFIELD WODHOUSE. Demolished by Local Authority.
