Not Emotional Fire, but Your Unquenchable Fire, dear Holy Spirit
Date: September 15, 2004

Dear Heavenly Father, Oh! I am so excited. What an awesome video last night (Transformations 2). What an excitement in our group, what a moving of Your Spirit! You are doing things! You are preparing our hearts. We can go out and prayer walk our community and find out what is happening there. And in prayer and communication with You, Holy Spirit, we can be involved in the work and the will of God for our community, and our church, and our cell group. What a mighty God we serve! Oh, dear God, please help me pray tonight. I mean today, every day. Don’t let this be an excitement that wears off the instant “distractions” and the worries and mundaneness of life come along. Oh, dear God, I don’t want a momentary fire of emotion, I want the unquenchable, eternal fire of Your Holy Spirit burning deep in my soul, throughout my entire being. I want this for myself, my family, my community – to all those called, and those to be called by Your name. Praise God! Do this Lord. Do Your work of transformation, and use me, use us, Lord, in the way You plan and purpose.

Cleanse my heart, O God, make me ever pure… and make me a woman of deep, painful, interceding, hard-working, repentance-based, knowledgeable warfare against principalities and powers, Holy Spirit-led and empowered and acted-upon prayer! Starting now, dear Lord Jesus! Let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done.

And oh, dear God, start the repentance here and now, with me. Lord God, I hereby repent in sorrow. Lord, I am humiliated, anguished, ashamed: of my “superior” attitude toward my husband in spiritual and other matters. Oh dear God, I choose by an act of my will, and by the guidance and power of Your Spirit within me as a child of God, saved by the blood of Jesus, and under the will and purpose of God Almighty, I choose to cast aside my cherished “hurts” and “aloneness” of the past, and step into the flowing river of God’s work and purpose; to go right in, over my head, and be swept into the center of the current, into the present action of God’s mighty working and power in the kingdom of God, the kingdom of Jesus, God’s Son, my Lord, by the power and guiding and enabling of God’s Holy Spirit. Lead on, O King Eternal! Help me love, honor, respect my husband. Change my attitudes, dear Lord, to free him to step forward into the place of spiritual leadership and action that You have prepared for him. Teach me to love him, to submit to him as his wife, as You have ordained in Scripture. Help my children to see what a godly marriage should be. Help me to love him with the love of God, and help me love my children, too, not just emotionally but with the love of God which longs for every man, woman and child to be in eternal love relationship with their Creator, Savior, God! Oh, dear God, help me to take my place, ordained by You, in Your eternal plans, purposes, and love.

I love You, Lord. I bless and praise and honor and glorify Your name. May everything I think, say and do be for the eternal praise and glory of God, my Savior, Lord and King. In Jesus’ name, amen and amen.

Dear God, please, please open a door of grace and glory and opportunity in my community, opportunity for the saints to get off their seats and down on their knees in repentance and praise, and into Your purpose to bring many, many souls to Yourself in our community, region, province, nation, world. It is not Your will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Help us to really comprehend that the lost around us are lost, totally, hopelessly, eternally condemned to hell, to the lake of fire, to an eternity forever separated from God and from God’s love, the only thing worth living for.

Oh dear God, “break our hearts. Break our hearts with the things that break Yours.” Keep us on our knees before You until all those You would call have fallen before You in repentance and sorrow, casting their sin and disobedience and independent separation from You down at the foot of the cross, and embracing the love of God shown through the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son, shed for the sins and iniquities of all mankind. Oh dear God, help us totally embrace, with all our beings, the salvation and love and eternal purposes of You, God Almighty, Creator, the great, eternally existent, all powerful, always present, all knowing, holy, holy, holy Creator God. To You be the power and the might and the glory forever and ever. Amen and amen.

Oh, Thank You, dear Holy Spirit, for praying through me. Release Your power, Lord. Transform us, Lord. Transform me. Revive us, Lord. Make us one, Lord. Teach us to pray as the Holy Spirit prays in and through us, prays Your will, Your purposes, Your loving plan, Your eternal salvation. Praise Your holy Name.

Teach us to go out and take the message, Lord, of Your Good News, to every nation, every tribe, every language. Lord, help me to actually learn as many languages as You will for me to learn, so that I can spread Your Good News to every creature wherever You would send me. Praise Your name, dear Jesus, dear Holy Spirit, dear Father God. Till everyone has heard, and all who have been called by Your name have bowed in repentance before You, acknowledging and believing in faith, in You as God and Lord Eternal of their lives.

So let it be done, Lord. Let Your will be done, Your kingdom come! Praise be to God! I love You, Lord. Amen.

Teach us to Repent and Pray Until You Send the Rain
Date: September 19, 2004

Yesterday at our study group, I talked about You, Holy Spirit, and about Your place and power and needfulness in our lives. You know how I feared to do it, Lord - and I certainly did not have a miraculous experience such as having Your words just pouring out of my mouth, or people casting themselves before You (though there were some tears). Indeed, I taught the lesson in weakness, with fear and trembling. But I know that some people told me they were blessed, and oh, Lord, what a blessing were the words ____ shared, the words You gave through her! What I could not clearly express, she spoke forth with love, clearly and boldly, yet also with trembling. Lord, Your truth, Your life, Your power is totally worthy of our fear and trembling! We are so totally weak in the light of Your glory and power. How wonderful and amazing that You deign to bring Your Presence into the room with us, Your totally unworthy servants - and yet, Your children, by Your amazing, unspeakable love and grace!

Oh, thank You, Lord! It has been so long since I have been able to open my heart to You this way. Only yesterday, I gave my all to You, willing to - yes - take nothing, seek nothing, expect nothing in return. And how You have already blessed, in ways I never imagined, or even at first recognized! Thank You for so many wonderful ways You have made Your love and presence clear to me in all my ordinary activities! Amazing! Thank You for opening my eyes to see the numerous blessings I have somehow become blind to in my daily life.

I left the group feeling that perhaps I had failed. But no, that is not right, for it was not "I" that presented Your Word. It was You, only graciously using me. Lord, often it even seems strange to me that You would trust me enough to use me, for I am so weak and so apt to get it Your way. And yet this is what I asked You for yesterday, what I most desire, that I will not get in Your way, and that I may be Yours only, to become dissolved into Your will, way, purposes, love.

Prayers for Our Nation, Canada
Date: September 20, 2004

Praying for our land, Canada…. Have we ever really followed You, God? Was our land not built on the love and drive for money – the fur trade, etc. People really didn’t come here for religious freedom (except a few groups, mostly later on). Were we ever really a “Christian nation?” Maybe the grass roots, but not our leadership…

Oh, God, forgive us. Your judgment of us is due, we have earned it mightily. Look how we have treated our native peoples, and other people we have trampled down along the way, like the Chinese railway laborers, and the Japanese interned during the war. We are indignant about the business practices of other cultures and nations, but ours have not been any more righteous. Our elected government even now is full of corruption and rottenness. Their “liberalism” is a stench to our neighbors.

We are a nation turned against God, a nation that has abandoned, nay, has cast out and is doing its best to destroy any knowledge of the true God. We have gone after all kinds of false gods in our mad rush for financial success and the gods of multiculturalism and political correctness. Oh God, help us to repent before it is too late. Revive what few coals of Your light in this nation’s Christians and church is left. Let it grow, explode into a mighty fire and light to our nation and to the whole world, by the breath, the wind of Your Holy Spirit blowing on the few coals still burning.

Thank You for those who have remained faithful. Bless them, Lord. Forgive me for laughing scornfully at the “old fashioned” revival and Bible teachers on the radio and TV, or on the streetcorners, and their funny old newsletters. At least they are faithful to You, oh Lord! Please restore to us the “faith of our fathers” … our spiritual fathers, and all the fathers of our community, province, nation (and world) who have chosen to follow and worship You.

Let us not fear to stand up, stand out, for Your truth, for Jesus, for the great Good News, the full gospel of Your salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ Your Son. Let us not fear to speak out of Your great, unmerited love and grace for us, of Your eternal purposes for man whom You created, and for whom You gave Your all, that our relationship with You might be restored, after we willfully chose to break it off and go away from You - and into the clutches of satan. Forgive us, Lord. Wake us up, change us, transform us, by the mighty working of the power and guidance and love of Your Holy Spirit.

Thank You, dear God. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever, the King Eternal, amen.
