Once upon a time, there were dinosaurs aplenty; they ruled the land with a fair and just hand.  The dinosaurs and cavemen actually got along quite well, it's all a hollywood myth they used to eat other.  The dinosaurs made sure that everyone had loads of marsh mellows to eat.  But the problem was that the dinosaurs liked the marsh mellows most of all.  Eventually they got too fat and died.

The moral of this story is that biographies are full of bullshit.  The No Leader biog is simple.  Shaun after many years of playing in various failed bands and sitting in his flat going mad due to 4 track frustration knew what he finally wanted to do.  Find someone in the lonely hearts adds of the NME that shared his passion for music. 

Meanwhile Martin was also looking for someone too, someone who had the same passion for music.  One day while trawling through the classifieds of NME he spotted a particular message, that message being of Shaun's.  So a first date was set for meeting down the pub.  Initially Shaun thought Martin was going to mug him as he was expecting a skinny white kid with green hair.

Initially Martin was playing bass while Shaun was vocals/guitar.  It was going along at some pace when suddenly Martin just couldn't carry on anymore. 

'I'm not a bassist!!!  I'm a guitarist!'

Shaun shocked at this admission. 

'This is like me telling my girlfriend I faked every orgasm!'

Shaun understood Martin's predicament as he'd done the same in another band (simpleton) a few years ago.  The duo were now Shaun vocals guitar and Martin guitar.  Finally things came into place.  Electricity came from out of no where.  And loads of hopeless hopefuls for bass and drums.  Months past where they met musicians that were either up their own arses or just plain crap.

'I thought you'd been playing bass for years???  Weeks!  Next please!'

'To be truly Indie you have to look Indie?  We're not real indie kids because we ain't got the hair?  Fuck off Brit Bitch!'

Through the darkness there was hope.  Through messages on the band contact website came the addition of Mike.  Then things really kicked off.  Finally they could make some recordings.  During the recordings of the Trade Soul For Time And Tears For Love E.P. Tony came into the ranks.  This was finally where No Leader were complete.
