Want
to know what you can do to your car? Here are the rules:
Box
Stock:
Car
must be run as it came from the original packaging. Replacement parts can
only be the same as what originally came with the car. The following
modifications are allowed to correct manufacturing defects:
-
sanding
tires for roundness, tires with tread pattern may NOT have the pattern
removed. Pattern
must remain across full tire. Max sanding for roundness
is .010 (THIS IS NOT
NEW) off original size.
-
adding
spacers to rear axle to reduce excess lateral movement of axle/gear/wheel
assembly
-
gluing of
original interior or exterior body parts to restore original condition or
position.
-
Gluing of
motor shaft bushings or wheel bushings
-
Wheel
wells may be cut or sanded only if
original stock tires in original position bind against wheel wells
-
Guide can
be shaved if track depth is too shallow, any brand of 1/32 guide flag may be
used on any car
-
Painting
and/or decals may be applied to cars
-
Cars with
multiple magnet position must have magnet in original position unless specified
otherwise.
-
Carrera
and Monogram magnets are considered adjustable and magnet may be place in any
position allowed by sliding it forward or backwards within the restraints of
the magnet mount. (magnet must remain parallel to the track)
-
If an
additional magnet comes with the car but is not installed, such as with the
Scalextric Sport and some Slot It cars it can not be used in box stock.
-
All other
Scalextric sport upgrades are considered box stock
-
Tires or
wheels may not stick out beyond the body when viewed from above. In the case of
open wheeled vehicles, wheels and tires may not be moved from the stock
position.
Limited
Super Stock:
Same as Super stock but stock rims must be retained.
Super
Stock:
-
Super
tires or Indy Grips allowed on rear only
-
After
market wheels may be used.
-
Wheel
wells can be enlarged to accommodate tires, tires or wheels may not stick
out beyond the body when viewed from above. In the case of open wheeled
vehicles, replacement wheels and tires may not be any wider than stock
configuration.
-Carrera
super stock- may remove wiring to switch (not switch) and not current limiting
resistors.
In
summary, if it doesn’t say you can do it, YOU CAN”T! No aftermarket
motors, armatures or magnets are allowed in box stock or super stock, EVER!
You may not glue in magnets, you may glue in stock bushings. Chassis that have
been ground, sanded, cut or excessively glued are not stock and may not be used
in stock classes. You may not change position of stock parts (wheels,
axles, bushings, magnets, etc in stock classes. All of the above will be allowed
as spelled out in Modified and scratch built classes as explained for those
races.
