omg the mayor!

so, i’ve been rewatching season three of buffy the vampire slayer, and let me tell you, my take on the mayor has totally changed. the first time i watched it, i wasn’t too impressed—he seemed like just another villain of the week. but now, i’m loving him, and it’s all thanks to harry groener, who played the character.

harry groener’s performance as the mayor is seriously fantastic. he brings this smooth, creepy charm to the role that makes the mayor both menacing and weirdly likable. his calm, collected demeanor paired with your dad's sense of humor makes him stand out as a villain. it’s like he’s so charming and pleasant that it makes his evil plans even more unsettling. watching him again, i’m blown away by how he makes the mayor both a genuine threat and a darkly amusing character.

it’s amazing how a great actor can completely shift your view of a character. harry groener’s portrayal has turned the mayor into one of my favorite villains from the series. if you haven’t checked out season three in a while, it’s definitely worth a rewatch—there’s a lot more to appreciate about the mayor now that i’ve seen it with a fresh perspective.
