"Tusen och en natt" - Charlottte Nilsson
"You are in my dreams for a thousand and one nights"
The Swedish Final was held on February 27th in Stockholm, hosted by Anders Lundin and Vendela Thommessen. The voting was 50% regional juries and 50% televoting. The song was performed in English at the Eurovision as "Take me to your heaven" and it won the contest. At the Eurovision, one of Charlotte's backing singers was Gabriel Forss, who was a member of Blond that represented Sweden in 1997.

Charlotte Nilsson was previously a backing singer for Björn Hedström in the 1995 Swedish Final. Christer Björkman represented Sweden in 1992, Arvingarna in 1993 and Roger Pontare in 1994.
