6。模拟论坛(1) 韩非子曾说:“不知而言,不智。知而不言,不忠。”说可能是不智,不说却可能是不忠。真的是说也不可,不说也不可。如今搜聚各方面资料,作模拟论坛,好处在:有言在先这只是“模拟”,不过是陈列一些存在在南大校友间的普遍的,可能的说法与想法让大家参考,有不当之处,也不过是现实的一种反应,非属“不知而言”。虽称模拟也非凭空模拟,是搜聚听闻加以整理演绎,应属“知而言”。若“论坛”中所举之事例与论断跟事实有出入,也盼望当事人指点,以正视听。更盼望南大校友,南洋理工大学当局与关心南大的人士提供宝贵意见,共襄义举。
Nantah was booted out of YunNanYuan in 1980. (南大已在1980年被人从云南园 撵出去)。 It is impossible. (那是不可能的)。 Nantah had three faculties, and NTU has one only. (南大有三学院(文理商), 理大只有工学院)。 I have no feeling of NTU at this stage. They must change the system and environment to take care of Nantah spirit and Chinese culture.(在现阶段我 对南洋理工大学无此感觉,他们必须改变他们的系统与(学习)环境,以照应到南大 精神与中华文化) Nanyang University was murdered in 1980. NTU is totally irrelevant to NU except forcibly occupied the site.(南洋大学已在1980年被谋害,南洋理工大学 跟南洋大学毫无瓜葛,只属鸠占鹊巢) They are trying to whitewash the blunder of closing down Nanyang University that was established under the leadership of the late Tan Lark Sye.(只是 试图洗清他们关闭故陈六使先生领导创办的南洋大学的罪名) Objectives have changed. Do not serve students from Malaysia well. Do not promote Chinese culture.(办学目标已被更改。马来西亚学生已不受理,也不发扬 中华文化) NTU belongs to the Government of Singapore.(理工大学是新加坡政府的大学) Nantah and Ntu are different entities.(南大与理工大学是不同的实体) NU and NTU are of different aims in Education. NTU does not "carry-on" NU history but twisting it.(两者办学目标不同,理工大学并未延续,而只在歪曲南 大的历史) The essence of Ntu is not the same.(理工大学的神髓与南大不同) NTU was a tool used to kill our alma mater. We can do that more constructively by working for Nantah's revival ourselves.(理工大学是谋害我们母校的工具, 我们自己复办自己的母校更具建设性) They are two different identities born under different period time and having different missions.(她们是诞生在不同时代,抱不同使命的两个不同实体) I believe Nantah had not passed it tradition, spirit or etc. to any institution. (我相信南大并未曾将她的传统,精神等等传给任何一间教育机构) NTU is in no way related to Nantah. If someone broke into my house, chase me out of the house and claimed all my properties, then I would not call him my friend.(无从找出理工大学与南大有何关连。若有人破门而入,将我逐出我的 屋子,将我所有的财产霸占,我将不会称他是我的朋友) Can not mix, different background, goals and objectives.(不能混为一谈,背 景,目的与目标都不相同) NTU does not provide "continuity" for Malaysian Chinese Education, which was the main objective for Nantah.(理大并不提供对延续马来西亚华文教育的助力, 而这是南大创立的目标之一) More and more old Nantah characteristics are being eliminated including the sceneries and buildings in the campus.(南洋大学的特质不断被消灭,包括 校园的景物与建筑) There is no connectivity of the present NTU and Nantah. NTU is essentially a government-supported university with no obvious distinction from NUS.(理 工大学与南洋大学无关连,政府支助的理工大学跟新加坡大学并无显著差别) It is entirely a different educational establishment except it was built on the soil of the original Nantah.(除了他们建立在南洋大学原来的土地上, 两者是全然不同的教育机构) My alma mater is a Chinese university not a Singlish university.(我的母校 是中文大学而不是间“新(英)文”大学) Ntu is unethical in using the names NU and Nantah(南洋理工大学使用南洋大 学的校名是违反道德的) It violates historical fact by stating that Ntu can be renamed Nantah and claim to have 47 years history (理大可以改名南大并拥有47年历史,这一说法 是违背历史事实的) NTU was a tool used to kill our alma mater. Any dream on the part of NTU to resurrect Nantah and assume our alma mater's identity is an evil dream, which no one with any sense of decency would like to see it become true. NTU is simply trying to exploit our sense of loss at the demise of our alma mater. It is trying to fill in the void. But we can do that more constructively by working for Nantah's revival ourselves. Yet, we do not want to confuse our condemnation of the NTU's claim to be the "new Nantah", with that university's efforts in continuing with some of the teaching and research programs our alma mater would have operated if it was still alive. We give these programs our support and best wishes because, by their being offered once again, they prove the wisdom of our alma mater. But we do not support them because they are being offered by an institution that has unilaterally and unashamedly called itself "Nantah". We cannot allow this crude usurpation. At the same time, we realize that the academic offerings are highly selective, and have more propaganda than educational value. We also take note of the recent step to limit the use of Huayu on the university campus taken by the NTU President who has tried so hard to gain our endorsement. (南洋理工大学是谋害我们母校的工具,任何经由理工大学而使南大复活的梦或假想 都只是一种邪恶的梦,没有一位具庄重理念的人会乐意看到它成为事实。理工大学 只不过想淡化我们对母校死亡所产生的失落感,试图填补空虚。但我们自己复办自 己的母校将更具建设性。 然而,我们不想将我们对南洋理工大学自称为“新南大”的谴责,跟该大学不断地 推出一些南洋大学若还存在也会进行的教学与研究的计划相混淆。对这些计划我们 支持与祝福,理大一再提供这方面的计划,是在证明我们母校的智慧。我们不支持 他们是因为一种单方面地,厚颜地称自己为“南大”的行为,我们不能允许这种粗 野的篡夺。 同时,我们也发现他们提供的学术计划是经过精心挑选的,宣传价值大于教育价值。 我们也注意到,南大新校长在致力于获取我们认同的同一时间,当局也在限制校园 中对华语的使用。)
按:若循此一思路辩论,则融合无望,不须一谈。但值得注意的是:以上是循过去跟现在的既成事实思辩,且假设现状已无望更改。是否有机会加入其他参数将问题带往不同的思考领域,来个“山穷水尽疑无路,柳暗花明又一村”呢?(待续)
“另一些人则认为前南大的学术水准不足,如果复名将被前辈施累。” 有南大校友评曰:“南洋大学各科系校友自第一届起在外国名校取博士等高级学位的比例超越新加坡大学,如今在美加名校包括哈佛大学也有南大校友居要职,南洋大学旗下的李光前数学研究所与电脑中心是新加坡电脑科技的发源地,在这领域也凌驾新加坡大学。南大校友在各领域战绩彪炳有目共睹。莫非这些理大学生来自木星或非洲?睁眼瞎猜对这一众所周知的普通常识竟是一无所闻?若真有诚意要谈融合,拯救这些可怜的,迷失的灵魂恐要列为当前急务。” |
