SPACE TOASTER
Karen Bemis and Corin Zaragoza

Talkie Toaster from Red Dwarf!

This poem, quite possibly one of the best poems ever written, was inspired by a font also called Space Toaster, which was created for use on "Space Ghost, Coast to Coast." Watch the show, use the font, and read the poem.

Once upon a time in a far away land
I loved a two-headed mushroom seller
That had a very nice goat
named Ted
But that has nothing to do
With my space toaster

Not only did it toast bread
It had an inscription that read:
"This toaster was made in Venus
By a man with a very large
plant"
This toaster you see
was flown in on a spaceship

I bought it for a quarter
(in the Wal-Mart sales bin)
I could not imagine
the trouble I'd get in

I took it home
For my garden gnome
Who was very lonely
and slightly homely
But it's what inside that counts!
Or so mama always said
But the gnome on my lawn
said non, non, non
to the company of my Wal-Mart toaster
(the gnome was somewhat a boaster)
So we decided we would go to Venus
and see the maker so well endowed
with his large
plant

We made a ship
and fueled it with spam
Oh! The miraculous spam!
So pink
It makes me think
the pinkest thoughts

But on the trip there
We happened to get lost somewhere
and we ran out of spam
So we crashed into the moon
and we died
oh damn
We went to a beautiful field
Where we frolicked
with butterflies
and fuzzy
fuzzy lambs
and made toast
for all
