This is my first oil painting. I was down in Savannah the first Friday of the summer and they had some oil paint for 50 cents a tube at the store for Savannah College of Art and Design. How could I resist? I had the urge to paint a cactus (don't ask me where that came from), so after thinking awhile about for what I could do with it, I decided to do alternating day and night coloring. It's sort of like my favorite doodle type of last year, except the lines originate from points on the canvas, and then intersect to form the varrious shapes. Oil paint takes forever to dry, which I didn't realize when I started painting this. It took me over a week to finish, waiting for portions to dry.
