Leah's Art Page
Leah and I have know each other for years, and she's the one that was always after me to scan my art. Now if I'd only get my microphone fixed she'd probably be happy. Go to her site. Now! It's kick-ass ink/watercolor/acrylic/colored pencil surrealist stuff. Oh! And durn the Satan cows to HECK!
Astraweb Lyrics
Probably the most extensive lyrics website out there, although it's NOTHING compared to my old fave which was shut down because of international copywright violations. :::pout::: Look up some Everclear while you're there.
Poems of Dorothy Parker
Dorthy Parker RULES! She was feminist and sarcastic back when women were supposed to be housewives and LIKE IT. Her biting tone is great, and she can actually ryhme without being cheesy.
Altavista Image Search
This thing is SO convienent. I use it all the friggin time. So often that I dragged it into the toolbar as opposed to bookmarking it. Every image that I steal and screw over I got from this site. If haven't heard of it, then you have my extreme pity. It's hard to live without.
Scholaraid
I am slightly angry that they give away scholarships to chicks over 5'10". Where's the representation of the SHORT people like me? Stupid Corin. Just gets EVERYTHING. Aside from that, this site is great. You just enter a profile and it finds a whole list of scholarships you can apply for, and you can even apply to some online. A must see for broke-ass peeps like me who don't want to go to a state school.
Spark Notes
They're like cliff notes, but free. They have nearly every book your teacher would force you to read, with character description, chapter summaries, and analysis.
Rusty Zipper Vintage Clothes
The name pretty much sums it up. It's pretty cool to look around at fab old clothes I would never be able to get in reality.
Napster
Free Mp3s for your listening enjoyment. Even thought the damn thing doesn't work for me. :::growl::: OTHER people seem to enjoy it though. I need a new computer.
CNet Builder
You didn't actually think I figured out all that Java crap, did you? Ha! This place will do it for you, just fill in the blanks, press the button, and copy the codes. Now I can handle that.
Hot Topic
This has got to be one of my favourite stores. Funky accessories, gothish attire, and loads of interesting stuff. In the mall, I can just stay in there FOREVER listening to the music. Check out the sale section here, they have stuff for CHEAP all the time.
Joel Stein
Not many people know this, but I am madly in love with Joel Stein. It's true! If you don't know who he is, well... you just suck. But I will explain anyway. He's a writer for Time magazine. He writes these hillarious columns and does celebrity Q&A's, along with the occasional article. What can I say? I'm a dork.
React
This is one of those teen websites, but it isn't lame like most of them. It has NEWS ARTICLES. It also has this video game arcade with stuff like Shockwave pong and a Zen rock garden. It used to have these cool multiple choice e-mails, but I haven't been able to find them lately. Anyway, it helps combat summer boredem.
The Phobia List
"Hellenologophobia- Fear of Greek terms or complex scientific terminology; Metrophobia- Fear or hatred of poetry; Ostraconophobia- Fear of shellfish; Zemmiphobia- Fear of the great mole rat." You can't make this stuff up! This guy has nearly every know fear defined.
Toasterland
I had to put this one, for Space Toaster.
Freaky Links
I love conspiracies. This guy has PLENTY of them. From kudzu monsters to ghost painters. Was voodoo involved in the assassination of JFK? Probably not. But it's still cool to read. Reporting stuff like this would be my dream job.
Goddess Art of Jonothan Earl Bowser
This stuff is so cool. It's mystic realism at it's best. But if you're one of those morons that can not tell the difference between some nudes in a few paintings and hard core pornography, don't even bother. Just go away. You people annoy me.
Dr. Demento
"Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads..." Dr. Demento is this radio personality that specializes in screwed up music. Gotta love it. This is where Weird Al sent his early stuff. "Fish heads do not drink cappuchino in Italian resturaunts with Oriental women." Yeah!
Muggles for Harry Potter
People are really stupid sometimes. Some folks with too much time on their hands have decided that Harry Potter is evil and must be banned. Book banning pisses me off. I don't want someone preventing me from reading books. Restriction of expression is a pathetic tool used by those with minds too weak to deal with things that bother them.
John Stossel
John Stossel is the coolest reporter around. Gotta love that cynical view of corruption in American society. Aside from the extreme over-use of the phrase "Give me a break", it's worth a visit. Not as cool, funny, or cute as Joel Stein, but extremely intelligent and able to see through all the bullshit out there. And there is LOTS of it.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
I have a BUNCH of CDs. All money that does not go to art supplies goes to music. I am actually somewhat ashamed of the number of CDs I buy. But of all of them, I probably play Tom Petty's Greatest Hits the most. Even more than the Everclear, because I'm not allowed to play the Everclear within my dad's hearing range. So it just seemed appropriate to give the link to the official site.
Charmyn's Seamless Textures
I feel I have to link to this site, seeing as I'm always using the backgrounds from here. It's pretty cool stuff, and they'll show what a bunch of colors looks like on the backgrounds, and give you the codes.
Infinite Fish Productions
Same summary as above.
More links will come when I feel like it.
