ˇˇFISH HEADS!!

You may be wondering what sort of demented person would dedicate an entire portion of a webpage to art about dead fish. Obviously, you don't know me that well if you are wondering this. The song Fish Heads is by Barnes and Barnes, a band getting much airplay on the Dr. Demento show. In the seventies, they recorded this song and made a music video that was played on Saturday Night Live. This was back when Saturday Night Live was funny. (Years before my birth.) But seeing as the vouge thing to do right now is to rip off the style of past decades, this video got some airplay on MTV. (Around 1 or 2am, the only time they actually play music videos on MTV.) It has become a minor drama craze among some here, which got passed onto Leah via me. Okay, now for the lyrics.

Fish heads. By Barnes & Barnes

(Chorus and first verse)

Fish heads fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
fish heads fish heads
eat them up, yum!

In the morning, laughing happy fishheads,
In the evening, floating in the soup.

(chorus)

Ask a fish head anything you want to
they wont answer they cant talk.

(chorus)

I took a fish head out to see a mooovie
didnt have to pay to get it in.

(chorus)

They don't play baseball
they don't wear sweaters
they're not good dancers
They dont play drums!!

(chorus)

Rolypoly fishheads are never seen drinking capachino in Italian restaurants with oriental women!!!!!

Yeah!

Fish heads fish heads roly poly fish heads fish heads fish heads eat them up Yum!

YEEAAHHHH!!!!!!

The first one. Fish heads play in a band. There's the line in the song "they don't play drums" but it didn't say anything about bongos. We all love bongos right? Right. This one was done with my Walmart acrylics (44 cents a piece!) on cardboard. Yes, I am cheap.

A Romeo and Juliet fish head scene done in oil pastel. Why? Why not. It's somewhat crappy, I realize this, but it's fun nonetheless. You can just look at my stuff and TELL I'm a theatre person, can't you? Only drama people can get away with being this weird.

:::giggles::: I love this one. Fish heads on the moon! Off in the background is earth. The space ship is actually a made from pictures of watches and a razor. This is done with magazine clippings glued onto a oil pasteled background. The pink flamingo is for Coach Thomas. I want a pink flamingo, but they cost more than you would imagine. You would THINK you could get one for like three bucks, but they actually cost twelve and up. Oh, and here's a plug: go read the Nathaniel stories by Leah who has a deep appreciation of pink flamingo art.

Wasn't that interesting?
back to the art...
