TIGER'S PALETTE |

In the most recent issue of Mystery Scene I read a short blurb about author Jacqueline Fiedler and her mysteries featuring wildlife artist Caroline Canfield. They sounded interesting so I checked my local library and found they had TIGER'S PALETTE, the first book in the series. Alas, I was not one of the Powerball winners and my book budget is ridiculously small. I can't afford to buy every book I want so sometimes I have to head to the library to check out authors that are new to me. I'm SO glad I checked my local library and got my hands on TIGER'S PALETTE! When wildlife artist Caroline Canfield's former mentor is killed in a suspicious fall from scaffolding while he's painting a mural at the Fox Valley Zoo, Caroline is asked to step in and finish his mural. She refuses to accept the fact that he could have been clumsy enough to accidentally fall and while looking into the mystery she encounters even more death and deception. TIGER'S PALETTE is a superbly written book full of wit and humor. While her characters create their masterpieces with acrylics, oils and brushes, Jacqueline Fiedler paints hers with words! I can't imagine anyone not enjoying TIGER'S PALETTE and I highly recommend it. And now I'm really looking forward to getting my paws on SKETCHES WITH WOLVES (what a gloriously catchy title!), the second in the series, which was released from Pocket Books in late July 2001. |
