Deaths were occurring and they were occurring frequently. The common theme was that most of the deaths were sleazy attorneys.

Detective Joanna Davis and her partner, Al Jacobs, were assigned to investigate the Benton case. Attorney Benton had been killed in a hot tub. The heat was turned to maximum and the jets were on high. A cassette deck tossed into the water completed the dirty deed. Benton was in his 60's and had apparently been hit with a stun gun. He was just one of the deaths attributed to the "Atterminator," the serial killer that was killing attorneys. Another attorney didn't make the curve on his bike and another died of botulism. An extensive list of dead lawyers prevailed and Joanna tried to find a common pattern. While this is going on, Joanna has a health scare.

A sketch artist created a picture. Now the killer's anonymity was lessened but this person was very crafty. There was a surge of power and disguise was always an option.

For me this was an enjoyable read, holding just enough suspense and trying to predict what would happen next. Joanna was gritty enough to be believable and human enough to be likable.
