I want to start out by saying I LOVE Matt's Jacob Burns series. They never fail to take me out of my own life and troubles and plunk me down squarely into the middle of Jake's troubles. They're the perfect escape for me and I look forward to each new adventure that Matt gives us all. In THE KILLING BEE, the fourth in the series, Jake finds himself thrown into the middle of yet another murder investigation. This time it's the murder of school principal Sam Meckel who's been whacked over the head with a spelling bee trophy. Unfortunately it's Jake who walks into the principal's office and finds fellow parent (and one of his wife's best friends) Laura Braithwaite standing over Meckel's dead body holding the murder weapon. THE KILLING BEE is a fast, witty, thoroughly engrossing novel that I was sorry to see end. This one is a keeper!! THE KILLING BEE will be released November 7, 2001. Don't miss it!
