Death's Domain is the sixth Cassidy McCabe mystery by Alex Matthews.

I was really surprised to see #6 as part of the sub-title, it felt more like #3 or #4. Unlike many of today's series, this series is not growing stale and in need of a jump start. Cassidy and her husband, Zach Moran, continue to grow in their relationship and their individual careers. Cassidy is a therapist, working out of their home in Oak Park, IL. Zach is an investigative reporter for a local newspaper. Together they have a cat, Starshine.

In Death's Domain, Cassidy has an e-stalker, forcing her to remember traumatic events from 15 years ago. The e-stalker has targeted Cassidy, but threatened Zach's life. The suspects are very few since only a couple of people knew all the details of that night. . .

Ms. Matthews masterfully leads us through Cassidy's anxiety regarding her past, and the present threat to Zach. We see what guides her actions and reactions.

Zach and Cassidy work effectively as a team, but does Zach finally reach his limit of psycho-therapy and questions about his drinking? Does Cassidy tire of Zach's lack of communication and denial? Check out the book.
