DEAD IN HOG HEAVEN |
|
|
Thea Barlow has bought a house in Hog Heaven, population 7, to be closer to her fiance Max. When she arrives in town, she quickly realizes that this might not be the place for her. Debates are running rampant between Hog Heaven and it's neighbor, Garnet Pass, over an astral projection enterprise that wants to settle in town. Many people want it because it will bring life to this small town but others don't want to sully the environment. On Thea's first night in town, Max decides to bring her to a town meeting. Both are having fun until the town witch drops dead from what everyone assumes is a diabetic attack. The next day when Thea goes to console the woman's aunt, Opal, she finds her stabbed. Of course someone walks in and sees Thea standing over the body. Thea becomes the prime suspect and almost everyone in town is willing to believe the worst about her. Thea decides to track down this murderer even if it kills her: which it just might. Thea Barlow is awesome. I feel like I have just made a new best friend. I love the style of this book; it talks to you not at you. While I felt it was a little too long, the writing kept me absorbed. The characters are well drawn and compassionate. Thea is funny, nice and just like a real person. Even the villains have their own little quirks that make them interesting. I'm excited because now I have the rest of the books in the series to catch up on and I suggest you do the same! |
