Jessica Speart's BORDER PREY was fabulous! This fourth outting for US Fish & Wildlife agent Rachel Porter finds her exiled to the Texas-Mexico border area trying to uncover a primate smuggling ring. I've loved Rachel's gutsiness ever since her first adventure in GATOR AIDE when she found herself hip deep in the Louisiana swamps, a place near and dear to my heart. She found herself shipped off to the Nevada desert in TORTOISE SOUP, and then transferred to Miami in BIRD BRAINED. Ever get the feeling she's good at pissing off her bosses?? BORDER PREY is a fine addition to the series with Rachel up against the charming, but ruthless owner of a Texas hunting ranch, and an insane scientist experimenting in cloning. And all hell breaks loose when she finds out that illegal immigrants aren't the only thing being smuggled across the Mexican border. Am extremely entertaining read!
