This is a note to explain the various jv80anlg files in this directory.
They all contain the same set of 64 patches for the JV80/880/90/1000, they are
just in different formats. These patches are provided by Roland and are based
on some articles in _Sound On Sound_ magazine (Jan - Mar '94) which used the
JV880 as an example in a tutorial on creating analog sounds from digital
synthesizers.

	The formats are as follows:

jv80anlg.mid - This is the file as received from Roland.
It is a standard MIDI file containing the
64 patches. If this file is loaded into
a program that can read standard MIDI files
and is transfered to the JV it will overwrite
the existing 64 patches in the Internal bank.
** Be sure you have backups ** !!!

jv80anlg.syx - This is the jv80anlg.mid file converted to
the .SYX format which is basically the
explicit MIDI SYSEX messages required to
load the patches into the JV's Internal
bank (also overwriting the existing patches
in the internal bank. Again, make sure you
have backups of any patches you want to
preserve from your Internal bank before
				 loading this file.

jv80anlg.zip - This version contains the 64 patches as 64
separate .SYX files that will load into the
Temporary Patch buffer of your JV, one at a
time for you to audition. This format is
intended for those who do not wish to
overwrite their Internal patches. These 64
files are the same format as the patches
that have been uploaded for sharing by
members of the JV80 mailing list. You can
audition the patches and save just the ones
you like at whatever Internal (or Card)
patch positions you choose (via the "front
				 panel" controls of your JV).
