Cheese and Garlic Casserole Bread

1 pkg yeast

1 cup warm water

1 Tbsp sugar

4 cups flour

2 tsp salt

1 tsp crushed garlic

2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

1-1/2 cups water

In a bowl, combine the yeast, 1 cup warm water, and sugar.� Let prove.� Stir in the flour, salt, garlic, cheese, and remaining water.� Mix well to make a soft dough.

Lightly oil a bowl and place the dough in it.� Let rise until doubled in bulk.� Punch down and let rise again.

Butter a 1-1/2 to 2 quart casserole or souffle dish,or use to 8 x 5 x 2 inch loaf pans.� Place dough in pan(s) and let rise until doubled in bulk.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Bake 30 minutes or until golden.� Brush the loaf with butter and bake 5 minutes longer.� Serve warm.

Makes 1 round loaf or 2 standard loaves.
