HKE Society was established in the year 1958 by the efforts of Sri G. M. Nagarajrao the then Divisional Commissioner as Chairman & Sri Mahadevappa Rampure , the then Member of PArliament as Secretary and with the kind cooperation of people of Hydrabad Karnataka area . Sri Mahadevappa Rampure took keen interest to start an Engineering college in the year 1958. In the year 1959 Sri Mahadevappa Rampure became the founder president of HKE Society and started establishing various educational institutions , to cater to the needs of the students of this educationally backward region . The year 1963 was quite significant in the history of HKE society when it started Medical College in this region. The establishment of Medical College in this region was a great accomplishment in the field of education.Shri Mahadevappa Rampure went on expanding the base of the society and managed to establish a number of institutions in all the faculties spread over a vast area from Bidar to Banglore. Within a period of 15 years of tenure, he had established as many as 15 institutions. After the sad demise of Sri Mahadevappa Rampure a great educationist, the medical college was named as Sri Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College.After him the society was headed by the social workers like Sri Sanganna Agadi, Poojya Sri Sharanabasavappa Appa, Dr. A.B Malakareddy, Dr. B.G Jawali, Poojya Sri Basavarajappa Appa & Sri Basavaraj Bhimalli . Currently , Dr. B.G. Jawali is elected once again as President of H.K.E Society. At present society runs 41 educational institutions including hostels.
