Biodiesel in California

Join the
Biodiesel Council of California

The Biodiesel Council of California (BCC) is an alliance of consumers, distributors, and producers for sustainable B100 biodiesel. The BCC was formed at the California Biodiesel Consumer's Conference, in 2004, due to California passenger-car consumers, small distributors, and small producers feeling the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) wasn't representing them. (The NBB has since made allowances for small producers.) Many of these same stakeholders also did not agree with the NBB's focus on virgin soy oil as a national feedstock, and high petroleum low biodiesel blends -- such as B2, B5, B20. They recognized that California has the opportunity to strengthen it's rural economy by growing bioreigonally appropriate feedstocks, use recycle waste grease from the state's abundant food industry, and take full advantage of the health and environmental benefits provided by using 100% biodiesel. The following is the organization's mission statement:

The Biodiesel Council of California's mission is to inspire socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable development of the biodiesel industry in California by educating and organizing the public, by advocating for governmental acceptance of neat biodiesel, and by developing and protecting the public biodiesel supply.

Currently, the BCC is pursuing the following projects to meet its mission statement:
