6/10. Amanda Bynes plays Daphne Reynolds, a teen from Chinatown, NY. She lives with her hippi mom, Kelly Preston, and together they lead a lonesome life. You see, Daphne doesn't have a dad. One day, she decides to go look for him, and ends up in England. She runs all over England nad finds Henry Dashwood, Colin Firth. Henry is running for Prime Minister of England, and he's doing it with his bratty fiance, and soon to be step daughter. Daphne walks right up the house, and brilliantly climbs over a wall, or rather falls over a wall into the yard. Soon she is rounded up by Henry Dashwood
Basically, this goes on for 2 hours. I don't really see this happening in real life because this movie seemed to make America look bad. American teens are not as roudy as Amanda. England seemed a tad weird too. A little on the serious side.
Personally, I liked Amanda's performance in Big Fat Liar a lot better because it seemed more...her. I've watched the Amanda Show, and All That, and they've seemed to fit her personality. What A Girl Wants seemed to be a little too serious for Amanda. I think Colin Firth's role was interesting. I thought I've seen one of his other movies recently, but when I looked at his films that he's stared in, none of them ring a bell. The rest of the cast doesn't ring a bell either.
The aspects of the movie seem to have been done before. Oh, that's right because it was a remake. Why are there so many remakes of movies lately? The angles and graphics of the movie were all right.
All in all, this was an ok movie, but it won't win any awards.
