Comedy/Romance. This little ol' story is about a girl from Alabama, she marries the man from her childhood, Jake. Flash forward 25ish years, and we find her sleeping at her desk at a Fashion Studio. She's a designer who lives in NY. Melanie, the main character, is about ready to do a fashion show when she meets up with her new boyfriend, Andrew. Jake and Melanie haven't talked to each other in 7 years. Anyway, Melanie does well at the fashion show, and Andrew asks for Melanie to marry him. She's astounded. She flies down to Alabama to ask for a divorce from Jake. That's where the plot ensues.

6/10. Alright, I first have to get this off, it was a chick flick. Now that I have that over, it was an ok movie. The plot seemed to have dragged on for a little to long because I was fiddling with my thumbs throughout the movie. It was ratherly obvious what was going to happen in the end, but they had to make sure that you sit there, and see what her life was like. Reese and Patrick did a really good job of playing the Melanie and Jake. I really enjoyed them.
Some of the other characters were weird and interesting. Like Bobby Ray for instance. I think Melanie's parents were a little on the odd side. This movie was a tad bit sterotypical to the people that actually live in Alabama. I don't really believe that they're stuck in the 50's and they all act like hicks.
There were some pretty funny scenes like the Civil War scene. They act out a battle of the Civil War for tourists. When Melanie is trying to find her dad, she asks some of the "dead" people where he was. They all rise up, and only one person knows where he is. Another part that was semi-funny was the Bar scene. Melanie gets a little to drunk, and starts mouthing off to everyone.
All in all, it was still an ok movie. Seen better seen worse. This movie, I might add, is probably the best movie out right now (October). There aren't many to rave about right now except for My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Now there's a good movie. It's still out after like 5 months. Anyway, a note to you guys, take your wife, girlfriends, whoever, to this movie.
