5/10. Jaime Escalante is a mathematics teacher in a school in a hispanic neighbourhood. Convinced that his students have potential, he adopts unconventional teaching methods to try and turn gang members and no-hopers into some of the country's top algebra and calculus students.
This movie was a good movie yet a bad one. The acting was ok and you could only feel for some of the characters. It could have been an outstanding story with other plot developments, but there were none. All in all, don't watch the movie unless you have too because you'll probably end up watching it in math class.
