9/10. Harrowing, extremely realistic Vietnam War movie based on
writer/director Oliver Stone's personal experience. Charlie Sheen
stars, with Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger in supporting roles. This
movie has the right balance between the psychological effects on the
soldiers and the actual fighting scenes, something most war movies
now need to get. And not only that, but you actually care about most
of the characters. Hollywood studios are done up to look exactly like
Cambodia to add to the realism of the movie. It shows the true trauma
that came out of the war, much like The Deer Hunter, but done
differently. It stretches on a little too long, but other than that
it's a supreme movie.
