8/10. This is one of the better movies that I've seen in a while.
Tom Hanks is a great actor and you can chalk up another good acting role for him. I was sad that he played the "bad" guy, but it didn't seem like he was. He really didn't do the shooting with Connor, and he only shot when he had too. Tyler as Mike Sullivans son was good. He had me going for a while that he was the real son. The reporter, Maguire, was sort of weird. I could have sworn he died earlier in the movie, but I guess not.
I thought the ending was pretty bad. I knew something of the sort was going to happen, and I definitely didn't think the reporter would do it because I thought he was dead. Their Aunt left or was killed. 1 of the 2. We really don't know what happened to her. But it was just a sad ending.
The camera angles and the such worked very well for this movie. They gave us many different ways of seeing it through the actor's eyes to look at the scene. One other thing I must mention, the killings. There were a lot more killings in this movie than there were in Schindler's List. Truthfully, the killings here were about the same, just more numerous.
All in all, this was a great movie, but some younger people might not be able to handle it.

8/10-In the summer of the sequel (Men in Black, II, Stuart Little 2, Austin Powers in Goldmember), there comes some original, beautifully made movies, like Road to Perdition. The emotions were real, and you got involved with the Sullivan family. It started off slow, but soon came to an exciting adventure. I didn't really understand the relevance of Maguire, the reporter who shoots the dead. Also, the ending was somewhat predictable, but it still got me by surprise (by the way it happened). I was surprised of how tame the language was, because the MPAA just credited it as "language".
I've heard many people say that Tom wasn't good because it was a "bad guy role". I thought he was magnificant. Mr. Newman was really good as Rooney. I'm surprised on how little of a part he, and the rest of the cast, had. It was mainly the "Tom and Tyler" show. By the way, about my earlier comment about this being an original movie, I know it was based on a graphic novel, but it's an original concept!
