5/10. Set in 1953, Katherine Watson (Roberts) is a free-spirited graduate of UC Berkeley who accepts a teaching post at Wellesley College, a women-only school where the students are torn between the repressive mores of the time and their longing for intellectual freedom.
One of the better things of this movie was the acting. Julia Roberts portrayed her character very well, but at times she seemed very forceful, and not like her usual self. I didn't recognize Kristen Dunst at all. She didn't seem like her Spiderman character at all.
Wellesley's college campus was a very good one to be at. Since Wellesley is a girl's school, this movie made perfect sense to film it there. I don't think any other place would have worked except Wellesley college.
The runtime for this movie seemed to be very long. I almost feel asleep but I kept myself up. I had also seen Lord of the Rings: Return of the King earlier that day, so it was longer than I expected. I really didn't want to see the movie to begin with, and that's probably why it got a bad rating from me. It was a very interesting movie to watch, but a very slow one at that.
All in all, don't take your little kids to see this or even your 12 year olds. They probably won't understand what's going on at all and will be very bored to death.
