8/10 A good movie but it was on the long side. I guess you have to have a long movie when your book is as thick as a phonebook. The characters of the movie made the experience seem very lifelike. You felt as if you were being pulled into the story and were trying to help Frodo on his conquest.

7/10-A good movie. Long (approx. 180 min), but, I guess, as the rest of the books-into-movies, they must be long to capture the book. More violent than I expected, but that doesn't matter. A nice slough of stars, too, also including the ones above, Liv Tyler, and Cate Blanchett.

20/10. If you know me, you can skip this review, because you already know what it says. For those of you who dont know me, you must know, that Lord of the Rings is my favorite, beyond favorite movie. I am, how do you say, obsessed? So now that you know what view Im coming from, here is my review.
I loved LOTR! It had action, adventure, comedy, and tragedy. All the makings of a good movie. There were some well known faces in the cast, and it had an excellent director, Peter Jackson. LOTR is kind of dark, but it is still a wonderful story of courage and hope. There is some comic relief from the hobbits Merry and Pippin, which is good.
When you watch it, you feel like your inside the story, going with Frodo to the cracks of Mount Doom. You may turn this movie down before you see it, because you havent read the book. Well, to tell the truth, I didnt realy want to see it either, because I didn't read the book, but it was still easy to understand, and a great story all on it's own.
It is a little long, 3 hours, but if you can sit through it without falling asleep or wetting your pants, you wont regret having to hold it. In conclusion (cause this is getting really long) I reccomend LOTR to everyone. Its a wonderful story, and I cant wait untill the next two come out.

8/10 What makes this movie and is going to make the next two installments of the Lord of the Rings triology so popular is that they are so anticipated. Many people have read the books by J. R. R. Tolkien and and think they're awesome, including myself. They also have big name actors like Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, and Christopher Lee. Well ok maybe before I saw the movie I only knew who Chris Lee and Elijah wood were, but they're all big name actors now. It followed the book pretty well, but left some characters out in order to make the movie only three hours instead of seven. I don't think this movie has enough action in it though, which is the main reason it did not receive a 10/10 from me. Another reason is that none of the characters appeal to guys (except maybe Liv Tyler, but they could've done better). They need Natalie Portman. Maybe they'll put her in another installment...
This movie was given an overall rating of 10.75/10, but if you throw out Rater #3's rating, then it's 7.5/10.
Rated PG-13 for action violence.
Running time: 178 minutes
