Jack Black attended the University of California Los Angeles and began his acting career onstage in a Tim Robbins production of "Carnage" at the 1989 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He later appeared in Robbins' 1992 comedy "Bob Roberts." He landed parts in a number of films including "Demolition Man" and "The Cable Guy," but he is best known for his roles in "High Fidelity" and the Farrelly Brothers' comedy, "Shallow Hal." Jack is also the lead singer for Tenacious D, which was formed in 1994. The group appeared on the TV comedy series "Mr. Show" before they landed their own HBO series called "Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth." Back to Actor and Actress Bios
