7/10. When not solving murders in Tinseltown, Detective Joe Gavilan and his rookie partner Kasey Calden both moonlight in other fields: Gavilan sells real estate (poorly), and Calden aspires to become an actor (Brando, namely). Assigned to the vicious in-club slaying of a promising young rap act, the two detective delve into the recording industry where they hope to find answers - ideally ones that also come with property buyers or auditions.
I truly, truly thought that this movie was good, but most of the people around me didn't think the way I thought. Now there were 2 things that I thought were interesting or funny. The first thing was Harrison Ford riding on a pink bicycle. Now remember, this is the guy who played Han Solo and Indiana Jones. Being seen on a pink bicycle hitting the little horn. I truly thought that was amusing. I wonder how many millions he got paid for that. The other thing was watching him trying to get laid. Do you know how old he is? Almost 61 come July 13. Old geezer. I like Harrison Ford though.
Off to the characters. I guess first, Harrison Ford. He was pretty good especially with trying to order a Hamburger at a crime scene, and attempting to sell real estate. I think that fit him pretty well. He also needs to switch his phone to vibrate, and same thing with Josh Hartnett. It seems to me that Josh seems a little less chinese that in Pearl Harbor. But then again, I must be blind to think of Josh as chinese. The rest of the characters came and went and didn't do much else.
Maybe the movie went on for too long of a time, but I enjoyed it for the most part. Go see it.
