3/10. A well-known writer at a progressive New York magazine decides to tackle anti-semitism in a unique way as his first assignment. Gregory Peck pretends to be Jewish in order to write about the effects of bigotry. From being refused a job and access to public accommodations, to his son being beat up and his fiance (who at first doesn't know he's NOT Jewish) expressing concern over his faith, Peck soon learns what it means to be Jewish.
I was extremely bored throughout this movie because it just moved to slowly. Obviously, this movie didn't depend on special effects because there were none then, but this movie needed some extra catch or something. Maybe because it wasn't in color that was really bothering me. It might not have held my attention long enough because I couldn't gawk at the colors.
The characters were fine. They all seemed very dramtic, and this must have been something typical in the 1940's. I recoginized Gregory Peck from To Kill A Mockingbird, and he did a fair job. The other people did ok, nothing too spectacular.
Maybe I hurt this rating because I saw this movie in 3 parts over 3 weeks. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend watching this movie anyway.
