Like her "Harry Potter" costar Rupert Grint, Emma didn't have much acting experience before landing the part of Hermione Granger. Though she'd wanted to be an actress since age three, Watson's work was mostly limited to school plays before auditioning for the movie. Watson beat out many other girls for the part. At age seven, Emma won the top prize at her school's Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition.
