Soul Mates

"You're going to be bad for business, I can tell."
Her lips capture mine in a fiery kiss seconds after the words fall from between
them; in synchronization, her alabaster arms curl around my neck. Her blazing
crimson curls seem to be alight, surrounding her flawless visage like scarlet,
silky fire. Her warmth surrounds me, as soft as scintillating ivory silk. Her
fingertips caress my flesh; her breathing seems to harmonize with my own, a
sweet rush of passion from her tingling body pressed to mine.
I find myself whirling upon an effervescent cloud of indescribable new fervour. There is such richness in her kiss; I drown in her
sweet eternity of golden shadows.
To my surprise, I find her still in my arms, in the luxurious Red Room. My
hunger forgotten, I concentrate solely on the opulent feeling of her cheek
against my forehead. We collapse on a soft, downy pile of cerise cushions and
she whispers sweet nothings in my ear.
"Love seems possible with you, Christian. Love isn't a word meant to hide
the filth of riches." She sighs. "You're so tender, my writer."
Her palm floats through my hair and she buries her face in my neck, girlish
giggles escaping her mouth.
I let myself succumb to her decadent soprano, and I know that her words are the
epitome of serenity and truth. My heart tumbles in dizzy circles as my joy
escalates. I feel in complete awe that she is willing to share herself with me,
not in body, but in soul. Her eagerness is expressed through her heart, her
mind and body, her and spirit…and song.
"Don't let it go away, this feeling has got to stay," she whispers
into my skin. Her arms pull me closer. My face breaks into a smile of pure
amazement. This woman -- this beautiful, compassionate, incredible woman seems
to be melting into my embrace. My lips graze the crown of her crimson hair.
"Don't let it go away; this feeling has got to stay," I echo her
words. "And I can't believe I've had this chance now, don't let it go
away…"
She lifts her pale cheek from my shoulder and stares at me with wonder, like a
child. Her cerulean gaze seems to burn into my soul. Her lips upturn in a
luscious smile and she brushes her fingertips down one side of my face.
"New, you're so new," she whispers, her fingers tangling through my
hair. Her touch sends sparks of delight through my spirit. She feels like an
innocent little girl in my arms at that moment. She seems to be a picture of
naiveté and subtle sensuality, her smouldering
seduction stripped away through the incredulity shining in her eyes.
"You, you're new," I reply. Her lips seize mine as she succumbs to
passion's fire. Her hands dance across my face, her mouth massages my own with
such wonderful fervour. When we break apart, our
chests heave simultaneously. She licks her lips, her eyes twinkling.
"And I never had this taste in the past. New, you're so new." Her
rushed breath caresses my cheeks. She takes my hand and places it upon her
pallid chest. Her heart pulses beneath my fingertips. Sweat beads shimmer like
fairy dust on her skin.
"Oh you're not old, and you're not familiar." We lift out voices,
hearing them blend as one sends shivers through my skin. "Recently
discovered and I'm learning about you…"
Even as sunset fades, its brilliant golden and cerise light melting into thick
purple velvet pinned with silvery stars, our unearthing of one another's souls
remains high and boundless, as rich and luxurious as love itself. We lie upon
the cool silk of the bed in the lavish Red Room, bodies and heartbeats
entwined. Her cheek rests against my chest; my fingers trace aimless patterns
along her spine.
"And you're consuming me violently, and your reverence shamelessly
tempting me."
Even with my eyes closed, I know her lips are upturned. There is a smile in her
sweet voice.
"Who sent this maniac? 'Cause I never had this
taste in the past." She runs her hand across my chest and places light
butterfly kisses across my stomach. Her lips fallow the curving path that her
pale eyelashes formed upon my skin, and a delicious shiver sends tingles from
my scalp to my toes.
"Oh you're different, you're different from the former," she whispers.
A horrible image of Satine being taken advantage of suddenly
snakes across my conscience with venomous eyes and sadistic fingers, hungrily
attempting to swallow my sensuous reverie with a stab of pain.
"Like a fresh battery, I'm energized by you." With those words, the
excruciating thoughts vanish and I feel her soft lips placing damp kisses in
the hollow of my throat. She nuzzles her nose against me and sings quietly in
my ear.
"Don't let it go away; this feeling has got to stay. Don't let it go away;
this feeling has got to stay."
I turn my head so that I can stare into her desire-clouded blue irises. We're
indescribably close now - song has fused our souls and minds as one. As
Satine's kisses tumble across my skin, I wonder if our bodies will join in
subsequent realization of fervour.
"And I can't believe I've had this chance now…don't let it go away…"
I sing, so quietly that I doubt she can hear the words caressing my tongue.
Warmth is spreading through me as though it is the very blood that flows
beneath my trembling skin. I draw in a deep, shuddering breath and ache to
capture Satine's mouth.
She lifts her lips from my chest and gives me a quizzical stare, raising a
perfectly penciled eyebrow. I smile, and she eagerly pulls herself up beside me
and presses her mouth against my own. Laughter mingles with our kisses.
When she pulls her mouth from mine, she bites her lip.
"Why am I so curious?" she muses, touching my cheek affectionately.
"This territory is dangerous. I'll probably end up at the start…I'll be
back in line with my broken heart…"
I start to reply, I want to tell her that I would never, ever leave her. Not
after a night filled with such glory and tenderness, but she only rests her
cheek against my chest and whispers to me.
"New, you're so new…you, you're new… And I never had this taste in the past, don't let it go away…this feeling has got to
stay." She exhales softly and snuggles into my warmth like a child. My
arms wrap around her and peace floods my soul.
I let my eyes drift closed, and offer a silent prayer that our words of love
remain steadfast, and hearts do not ever shatter. New love is too fragile to
hold, and too precious to break.
"And I can't believe I've had this chance now," I sing, my lullaby of
contentment filling my ears. Satine sighs, as if agreeing with me in her pseudo
sleep, and her girlish lips pout, as if she means to
kiss me. I touch her mouth softly.
"Don't let it go away…and I can't believe it, can't believe it, can't
believe it, can't believe it…"
This woman is mine as I am hers. She is not my possession, but my love, and my
spirit.
"Don't let it go away, this feeling has got to stay…don't let it go
away…"
